All users who connect to your Minecraft Server must use the IP of your server to connect. We provide you with an easy to remember IP plus port, however, if your server is public you may want a branded IP that reflects the name of your server, or an IP that is easier to share without a port. If the domain you wish to use is connected under Godaddy, you may use this tutorial to help you set up your IP.

When referring to your server IP in this tutorial, we are referring to the numeric IP. This can be looked up in this table, using your subdomain or node name.

1. Login to Godaddy

Using the account you purchased your domain with, sign in to your GoDaddy account.

2. Click DNS

For the domain that you wish to use, click on the DNS button as seen in the image below:

3. Click ADD

You should now see a list of DNS records. In order to correctly forward the domain to your server IP, you must add a new record. Click ADD as shown in the photo below to do so:

4. Add An A Record

If you wish to forward your entire domain (eg. cubehostingmc.com)

From the dropdown menu for type select A, and enter the following information:
Type: A
Host: @
Points to:  Your node's IP (found in the table mentioned above)
TTL: 1/2 Hour

Save this DNS record. If you have a dedicated IP (25565), you are done! But if not, you must set up an SRV record if you wish people to not connect with a port.

If you wish to forward only a subdomain (eg. play.cubehostingmc.com)

From the dropdown menu for type select A, and enter the following information:
Type: A
Host: play
Points to:  Your node's IP (found in the table mentioned above)
TTL: 1/2 Hour

Save this DNS record. If you have a dedicated IP (25565), you are done! But if not, you must set up an SRV record if you wish people to not connect with a port.

5. Add an SRV record (Optional - Non-Default Port)

If your port is not 25565, and you do not want players to have to type in the port you will need to set up an SRV record. Once you have set your A record, add another DNS record by clicking on the ADD button once more. This time, you will need to select SRV from the dropdown menu.

If you wish to forward your entire domain (eg. cubehostingmc.com)

Type: SRV
Service: _minecraft
Protocol: _tcp
Name: @
Target: Your domain name (eg. cubehostingmc.com)
Priority: 0
Weight: 5
Port: Your server's port (eg. 25564)
TTL: 1/2 Hour

Save the DNS record, you are now finished!

If you wish to forward a subdomain (eg. play.cubehostingmc.com)

Type: SRV
Service: _minecraft
Protocol: _tcp
Name: play
Target: Full domain with subdomain (eg. play.cubehostingmc.com)
Priority: 0
Weight: 5
Port: Your server's port (eg. 25564)
TTL: 1/2 Hour

Save the DNS record, you are now finished!

It may take around 24 hours for your changes to occur. Please contact us if you need any help setting this up. Note: we do not have access to your godaddy account so we will not be able to set it up for you!
